4K have been busy designing, making and evaluating electronic games in D.T this half term. Below are some photos of our games which light up!

As part of Easter Pause Day, 4K looked at the theme of forgiveness. We watched part of 'The Miracle Maker' and thought about the perspectives of Judas and Peter. We wrote down mistakes we had made onto tissue paper and then soaked these in water to represent the concept of being forgiven. We then created some artwork - thinking about Jesus' crucifixion and what happened after with forgiving Peter.

4K also took part in Victorian Day this week. Below are some photos of how we looked on the day!

4K went to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke this week! We enjoyed walking around the museum and hunting down objects to tick off on our sheets. We went into a Victorian sweet shop and got our ration cards stamped in exchange for boiled sweets! We also went to two workshops where we got to experience what life was like in a Victorian classroom, partake in some map work and explore a steam train.

For part of Outdoor Learning Week, 4K went outside and completed some word art which we then turned into outdoor poems! We walked around the field and observed/ listened for different sights and sounds we could add to our circles - this was inspired by Richard Long's concept of 'One Hour.' We also completed some outdoor inspired art and chose different patterned and shaped leaves to observational sketch.

For English this week, we wrote our hot-write biographies on famous Victorians. We read research on them, picked out key facts, created a life-map and finally wrote our biographies, using sub-headings to help us structure our writing!

In Maths, we have been finding non-unit fractions of amounts, using bar models and place value counters to help us.

In Geography, we used atlases to map out a route through 6 cities in the United Kingdom. We then used our time in ICT to find pictures of the cities in modern and Victorian times to compare changes! We also wrote grid references!

4K made Jewish stained glass windows to end our unit on Judaism. We looked at and discussed the symbols of The Menorah and Star of David.

As part of RE, Year 4 had a guest speaker to talk to them all about Judaism.
